Rafael Gómez
Saxophones, Clarinet & Electronics
His path has never been conventional. He passed the national teaching exams twice. The first time, as a young man, he was assigned to Melilla. Since it was too far for his mother to visit, he turned the position down and moved to Bordeaux to study.
Upon returning, he simply passed them again. Just like that. No stress, no drama.
Naturally, he studied with prestigious professors whose names only true connoisseurs would recognize, and his list of masterclasses is long enough to cure anyone’s insomnia. Beyond that, he’s a great guy and a fan of Pedras water. He has a son who’s also a musician and a car so old we’d never make it to the gig in it. We’ll take the other one.
Pablo Casal
Piano, Drums & Composition
He has performed extensively with world-class artists and even holds a Latin Grammy nomination. He doesn’t sleep much because he has two young kids. He enjoys chess and holds a PhD.
He’s a calm yet high-level professional. During his driving reflex test, he broke every record—they actually had to check if the machine was broken. It wasn’t.
In the mornings, he’s a master of multitasking: making coffee with one hand, toast with the other, and reading his phone at the same time. If he weren’t a musician, he’d be the MVP of any coffee shop.
